I'm completely thrilled to announce that we won the pitching competition at Visegrad Animation Forum in Třeboň, Czech Republic! My new film 'Salvation Has No Name' won the short film prize and €2000 towards the production. Whilst in Trebon we started some really positive conversations with some fantastic companies about the possibilities of co-production to make the film a reality. The film is being produced in the UK by Loran Dunn of Delaval Film.
Joining me in Czech Republic for the pitch was the brilliant Production Manager Francesca Carr from Delaval, who I can't thank enough for her ideas and professionalism and for saying such wonderful things about me and my work in the pitch. We were assigned two tutors to our film, Phil Parker and Agnieszka Kruk who's feedback in forming the pitch was invaluable.
As ever at these events it was a reunion of fellow Animation Sans Frontieres participants, both old and new, many of whom were pitching projects in the forum. The deadline for this year's ASF applications is June 8th, I highly recommend applying! Thanks to everyone who's helped me with the film so far including Péter Vácz and Marie Lechevallier who both animated on the teaser trailer with me, Kit Wilson, composer, who created an incredibly cinematic score, Italian actress Elisabetta Spaggiari who lent her fantastically nuanced voice to one of the characters and Peter Lord and Aardman Animations for generously supporting the shooting of the trailer.
