Joseph has given talks, lectures and workshops to a wide range of audiences and offers bespoke sessions in animation and puppetry. Joseph has spoken and run workshops at festivals and universities as well as interviewed on stage major artists such as Aardman Animations, the Quay Brothers, OSCAR-winner Michael Dudok de Wit and BAFTA-nominated Barry Purves. Lecture topics include; his work and methodologies, puppet aesthetics on stage and screen, stop-motion animation, ideas development, storytelling and animation history (Ivor Wood, Eastern-European animation). Joseph has acted as a student mentor at Central School of Speech and Drama, ran a new-writing module at London Academy of Dramatic Art, led a week-long stop motion workshop with fellow animator Péter Vácz at Primanima Festival in Hungary and curated the film programme for Bristol Festival of Puppetry 2015 featuring the Quay Brothers and Barry Purves.
